چکیده
Accurate projection of CO2 concentration in time and space remains challenging because complex interplay between anthropogenic emissions, biospheric responses, climatic variabilities. While the increase atmospheric is due primarily to fossil fuel burning, natural climate variabilities are known introduce intermittent changes global growth rates. Thus, understanding correlation carbon cycling systems important assessing impacts. Here, we report decadal western Pacific based on data from several ground-based stations region Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS). In addition well-established El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO), there exists a changing trend datasets mentioned above. Analysis measurements northern Taiwan shows signal at amplitudes ~5 ppm. contrast, AIRS similar but reduced amplitude ~1 We attribute dynamical factors related Decadal (PDO). This signal, however, not reproduced by state-of-the-art assimilation system, CarbonTacker, suggesting gap our knowledge modulation climate.

Decadal Variability in the Terrestrial Carbon Budget Caused by the Pacific Decadal Oscillation and Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation
The terrestrial carbon dioxide (CO2) budget interacts with the Earth’s climate system on diurnal to centennial and longer time scales, making it critical for climatic prediction and stabilization. Atmospheric observations and global syntheses of CO2 data indicate that the terrestrial biosphere is one the major sources of interannual variability, but the underlying mechanisms operating on differ...
متن کاملPacific decadal oscillation and sea level in the Japan/East sea
Satellite altimetric data from September 1992 to January 2002 and hydrographic data from 1927 to 1999 reveal the presence of low-frequency variability of sea surface height (SSH) within the Japan/East Sea (JES). SSH interannual variability amounting to approximately 15 cm is in phase with the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (PDO), with higher SSH, warmer, fresher surface (upper 200 dbar) layer duri...
متن کاملThe Forcing of the Pacific Decadal Oscillation*
The Pacific decadal oscillation (PDO), defined as the leading empirical orthogonal function of North Pacific sea surface temperature anomalies, is a widely used index for decadal variability. It is shown that the PDO can be recovered from a reconstruction of North Pacific sea surface temperature anomalies based on a first-order autoregressive model and forcing by variability of the Aleutian low...
متن کاملDecadal Oscillation of Autumn Precipitation in Central Vietnam Modulated by the East Pacific-North Pacific (EP-NP)
Autumn precipitation over central Vietnam is associated with an increase in the occurrence of tropical cyclones that lead to frequent flooding and pose a significant threat to lives and property. The present analyses reveal a pronounced decadal oscillation of autumn precipitation in central Vietnam within the 8-11-year frequency band that is modulated by the East Pacific-North Pacific (EP-NP) t...
متن کاملThe Pacific Decadal Oscillation and Pacific Salmon Production
Retrospective analyses of Pacific Basin climate records highlight the existence of a pan-Pacific interdecadal climate oscillation. We find strong evidence for coherent patterns of interdecadal variability in Pacific winds, sea level pressures, and upper ocean temperatures. Collectively, the ocean-atmosphere pattern of variability has been labeled the “Pacific Decadal Oscillation”, or PDO. An in...
